Into a complex business environment, distributed and in permanently change, companies oriented to manufacturing have to create and maintain the advantages for the concurrency. For this, companies are trying to reduce costs without giving up to product’s quality and integrity. High exigencies of clients regarding quality and delivery time, significant fluctuations and request’s specificity, costs instability and prices pressure, the necessity of a rapid and easy communication with partners, are challenges that need real time control of processes specific to the supply chain and manager’s access to logbooks and critical business analysis in order to take robust decisions.

Great variety, life cycles becoming shorter determined by the continuous introduction of new products, constant adaptability to new technologies and processes, increasing the number of products configured for satisfying specific requests necessary for the management of product structures and of manufacturing technologies by product versions and configurations.

Compliance and adaptation to law regulations in continuous change represents another great challenge. Besides these general challenges, companies have to answer the inside requests: the existence of plenty manufacturing types within the same organization, equipments maintenance on a schedule in agreement with manufacturing schedule, capacity management changes, the evidence of tools and devices inventory, diminishing stocks without variation, framing in the profit margins, generally harmonization of manufacturing process with the company’s business requests.

Meeting these requests, EMSYS ensures the supply chain management (SCM – Supply Chain Management) and implements the MRP II standard (Manufacturing Resource Planning) of manufacturing planning and control.

Manufacturing Planning and Control, the central link of SCM, has as main purpose planning of manufacturing resources and monitoring organization’s manufacturing processes:
• Preparing manufacturing: defining product structures (BOM) and receipts (Formulas), the control of versions and configurations, establishing manufacturing technologies (Routing and operations), managing planning data (lot sizes, minimum quantity, maximum quantity, delivery cycle, manufacturing cycle, procurement cycle, inspection cycle).
• Master production scheduling (MPS): manufacturing planned orders based on requests from client’s orders and sales previsions (MTO – Make to Order) or based on some pre-established stock levels (MTS – Make to STOC).
• Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP): planned manufacturing orders for manufactured components and planned purchase requests for purchase requests. Quantities from orders are established according to dimensioning politics of lots: LFL (Lot for Lot), POQ (Period Order Quantity), and FOQ (Fixed Order Quantity).
• Capacity Requests Planning (CRP): determining requested capacity and the comparison with available capacity.
• Launching manufacturing: forming work orders by one or more planned and confirmed orders by the manufacturing, issuing documents to issue components.
• Flow Manufacturing Control (SFC – Shop Floor Control): issue components, tracking execution and reporting operations, tracing products to warehouses, tracking and trasability of finite products and raw materials lots, management by bare codes and mobile terminals, multiple measurement units.

There are also implemented other manufacturing strategies: manufacturing unique products (ETO-Engineer To Order), products configured at request (ATO – Assembly To Order). Calculus methods of requests based on consumption previsions and refill level are available (ReOrder Point).
